Overnight Camp at Santa Monica

On 15th and 16th January 2009, grade 5 and 6 went to Santa Monica to have an overnight camp. We went from school at around 08.00 and arrived there at around 09.30.
When we arrived there, it is a little bit raining, but actually when we do the activities it is very shine. At first, we were discussing about with whom we will sleep and in which room. Then after we knew we start putting our bags at out room and gathered again in the first place we gather.
We play a lot of activities such as Flying Fox, Monkey Bridge, Rappling and also other small games. But, at first my group plays the Monkey Bridge first and I’m the fastest to do it. After we had finished doing the activities, we went back to the last place that we usually gather and eat.
After we had finish eating, we did some more activities and then we went to take a shower. Before, actually the guide already told us to make one show to be performed at the Camp Fire time. After we ate dinner, we start to practice our talent show.
At that night, we start the Safari Night and walked around the village. Some of us were scared about that because it was very dark. The one who was in the front is Samuel and the one at the back was Adrian. The groups were mixed with grade 5 and 6, so we could know each other better.
When it was time for the talent show and the Camp Fire, everybody gathered at a place that was already ready for us to do our activities. We also played some games that were fun, and the person who lost, got a punishment. One of the students from grade 5 and 6 were asked to set the fire. Before that actually we also had performed our show, and it was very fun.
When we got back to our room, we rest and sleep because the next day we should wake up at around 06.00 in the morning to exercise. The next morning, after we exercise we ate our breakfast and then we start tracking. When we started the hiking it was very shine, but then when we’re in the middle of our way it started to rain. Even though it’s raining, we still walked and at last we got back to the usual place.
After hiking/ tracking, we did two more activities. The first one was we compete against other and the second one was playing as one group so we could build our team work. We were very happy about that day even though it was still raining when we did the last activities. After that, we finished our activities by praying and one of the students from each class should tell about their feeling staying at Santa Monica.
At the room, we took a shower and pack our belongings. Then we ate lunch and after that we gather again. For a few minutes we talked and share about the day there, and then we went back to school at around 12.30. At the bus, we were all having fun like we did at the overnight camp. We arrived at school before 15.00.
